Caroline discusses her entry into pain and stress research focused on the perioperative management of special needs patients. She also discusses distinct types of funding for research training and to how to become a “portfolio research mentor” for others.

Dr, Sawicki also discusses her learning lab to be presented at the AAPD 2022 session focused on pain management, in addition to poster presenting the results of a nationwide survey assessing pediatric dentists' utilization of and attitudes towards evidence-based pain management approaches
