Dr. Man Wai Ng tells us about the extensive use of teledentistry she deployed with her team at Boston Children’s Hospital during the pandemic and beyond.  She describes the systematic approach to using teledentistry, and how it worked so well in their health system.  Dr. Ng describes how she believesteledentistry will continue in perpetuity beyond the pandemic and in what ways it will be most useful.

Dr. Ng is Chief of Dentistry and the DentaQuest Endowed Chair in Pediatric Oral Health and Dentistry at Boston Children’s Hospital.  She is also Associate Professor of Developmental Biology (Pediatric Dentistry) at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. A former member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Board of Trustees, she is currently President of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has been principal investigator on an Early Childhood Caries Disease Management Collaborative that has been focused on effective engagement and communication with parents to improve their children's oral health.
