Episode Description

In the latest episode of the AGD Podcast Series, Darren Greenwell, DMD, MAGD, and AGD Podcast Series host George Schmidt, DMD, FAGD, talk about AGD legislative priorities and role in advocacy and share details about AGD's upcoming Hill Day. Each day, dentists navigate complex challenges—rising student debt, insurance pressures, workforce shortages, and evolving regulations. Advocacy ensures those challenges are understood. They explain that advocacy is also a long-term commitment.

Dr. Greenwell is a general dentist from Kentucky and the chair of the AGD Legislative and Government Affairs Council. He served twice in the military, including the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman, and later in the U.S. Air Force, where he completed an Advanced General Dentistry residency. Between both of those posts, he completed my undergraduate degree and then went on to graduate from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Following his second stint in the military, he returned home to Kentucky and started a private practice.

Dr. Greenwell is past president of the Kentucky Academy of General Dentistry, past president of the Louisville Dental Society, and past president of the Kentucky Dental Association. Also, Dr. Greenwell is Chair of the Donated Dental Services of Kentucky.
