Shawn is a director in the Healthcare Consulting practice at Forvis Mazars and host of the "Achieving Health" podcast. Before joining Forvis Mazars, he most recently served as director of perspectives & analysis at the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Based in Columbus, Ohio, and Phoenix, Arizona, he brings deep experience across the hospital and broader healthcare industry.
His areas of focus include Medicare, Medicaid, workers’ compensation, private managed care payors, budgeting, strategic planning, business process improvement, healthcare price transparency, team development, and public speaking. His professional background includes senior consulting roles with a health policy consulting firm, serving as vice president at a medical billing company, and acting as director of health care policy and economics for The Ohio Hospital Association.
Earlier in his career, Shawn held leadership roles in access and revenue cycle management at a major academic medical center and designated cancer hospital.
He is a graduate of Kent State University, Ohio; holds an EPIC Resolute certification; and is currently on staff at Boise State University and Carnegie Mellon University.
