Heavy menstrual bleeding is a condition that occurs before menopause and can be caused by both hormonal and structural conditions, like fibroids or adenomyosis. There are many medical and procedural options for treating bleeding which are safe in women with CVD. Although hysterectomy is a definitive option for HMB, it can increase risks of CVD in young women.
