Douglas Lundy, MD, MBA, FAAOS, is an orthopedic trauma surgeon who specializes in acute/reconstructive trauma, fracture and limb-lengthening surgery, treating patients with injuries of the bones, tendons and muscles.

He was born in New York and raised in Georgia. He completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, which followed an orthopedic surgery residency and internship at Georgia Baptist Medical Center, Atlanta. He earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia, School of Medicine, Augusta, and received an MBA from Auburn University.

He has made medical mercy mission trips to some of the world’s poorest nations, which have had a profound impact on him. He has performed surgeries using only rudimentary instruments and supplies in Africa, Mongolia and the Far East. There, he has taught local surgeons advanced operative and restorative techniques, so they can continue performing these procedures independently.

Dr Lundy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has held leadership positions with American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Orthopaedic Association, and American College of Surgeons.
